Have you ever thought of how much you love someone? Not just the other half of yours, but also your family/friends/anyone else that holds a significant presence in your heart? Well, I did.

It‘s 11th May 2019 today, and as we see families celebrating Mother’s Day for their beloved moms, we did too. We had our dinner over at Dooki, a tteokbokk buffet restaurant at Suntec City - which we thought it was quite fun getting to cook along with my mom and sister!

There’s some decent selection of food, think - veggies, fish cakes, rice cakes, meat, instant noodles and an assortment of steamboat ingredients. Given a soup base, you can create your own sauce and mix it with the soup base to create your very own army stew-alike! My mom loved the experience and we had fun cooking while enduring the heat of the food. Drinks were also available, such as hot barley tea and a drinks dispenser with various soft drinks. There is a time-limit of 90 minutes, which may be implemented only during peak periods - they might be less strict if it’s not that crowded.

90 minutes was sufficient for us as we were pretty full by then. Also presented my very lovely mom with her Mother’s Day bouquet!

We love her so much. She’s always enthusiastic to join my siblings and I no matter how tired she is from work. And each Mother’s Day, or even her birthday, I can’t help but to think back about how my mom took care of us over the years. Yes, we all age. And that is scary. The fears of worrying that one day, we will move on in life and get separated from our loved ones - the ones that fate brought us together and form a family. We have seen time travel machines in movies, but in our current reality, there ain’t one that exists yet.

While we think about how often quarrels happen within families or siblings, wouldnt it be nice to think about how we have each other now? Cherish now, so that regrets will not take over our lives in the future. Cherish our moms, for all the things they have done to make us who we are now. Tell them, I love you, because these words could mean more than anything to them. And while this is all just from my perspectives, I just wish that all our moms deserve the credits they have earned.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of your moms!

love,

cynnieco.
