Dad's 60th.

Hello guys! It has been such a hectic past 2 weeks for me, with all the interviews going on. 2 weeks ago, it was my dad's 60th birthday! We organised a dinner at Ban Heng @ Harbourfront Centre, alongside with a private room to ourselves. It was quite picturesque as we were facing right opposite Resorts World Sentosa!

Failed to take a picture of the scenery but that was how the room was being laid out for us! Absolutely loved the privacy as we had too much laughters in the room oops.

Prior to our dinner, my sister and I had our day out at Vivocity - eating, shopping and just having lots of fun! It was a Saturday and it was really crowded. We were lucky to have chanced upon the KitKat Chocolatory which we could get KitKats in our very own local flavours! Think Nasi Lemak, Chilli Crab, Kopitiam Breakfast, Chendol, Milk Tea with Rose & Green Tea with Cranberry! There was also the Ruby Chocolate which was unfortunately sold out. We took our chances and queued, which we were thankful to have gotten our KitKats pretty quickly. We bought the Chendol and Nasi Lemak ones for us, while the Kopitiam Breakfast and Chilli Crab for our friends.

If you do wish to try it, I chanced upon it recently on Shopee. However, it seems like there is only Green Tea with Cranberry left - so you might want to have a look to see if they are still stocking it up!

We then went to this cafe called Chulove Cafe (yes true love for churros found here!) which specialises in churros! Think of churros being served in different ways - long churros with different flavours, mini churros, classic churros and even savoury churros!

And yes, you can also spot their neon lights installation on the walls, enhancing the overall cafe vibes. My sister and I had the classic churros which are coated with cinnamon sugar and comes along with a dip of your choice! Choices include Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel and also something similar to a berry flavoured dip. We got the berry dip and it is indeed a great blend! If you're not too keen on sweet stuff, the berry dip balances the sweetness with a slight tanginess to it, alongside with the warm, crispy edges - it is one of my favourite! We also got a croissant as we missed the one in Paris badly, but the churros would suffice if you are visiting.

Moving on, we headed for some shopping as well as Timezone while waiting for the big event at night! We started off with the classics, longevity buns to signify the longevity of the birthday boy! There were also dishes such as the Buddha jump over the wall, Suckling Pig, Braised Soya Sauce Fish, Ee-fu noodles (my favourite!) and double-boiled Hasma as desserts. I have only included some photographs as some was not decent enough to be posted so here you go! :p

That was a Manchester City cake that we specially customised for my dad, as he is such a huge fan of them! Honestly, as we watched their match live in Manchester, my sister and I grew interest in football and have been following our dad's footsteps. So, we pretty much watch matches such as Premier League and all. It's nice as we had a common interest to engage in deep conversations with our dad - besides daily topics.

We got our cake from Bob the Baker Boy, located at Junction 9 Yishun. We ordered the Black Velvet cake and it's really good! Moist chocolate cake with their very own cream cheese frosting, it is my first time ever liking a cream cheese cake! Besides, it was not overly sweet which our relatives really liked it! So if you are looking to get a customised cake that is suitable for all ages, I feel that this bakery studio may be just right for you! The service and pricing is great too, so you don't have to burn your pockets for it :)

And that's our family picture to end this post. Thank you for reading and have a lovely week guys!

love,

cynnieco.
